'Blaze' of glory
I have been sailing racing dinghies for many years but for the last ten years in boats carrying the 'Coastal' Logo. During this time the classes
I have sailed were Buzz, Laser 4000, RS800 and latterly the single handed uni-sail 'Blaze'. I have been involved both at National and International level in the UK and the Continent with reasonable success on both sides of the channel.
In 2008 I was fortunate enough to win three of my clubs major series which we compete for throughout the year. I also competed for the Wayfarer Nationals held at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club in a borrowed boat. The competition was naturally of the highest level and sailed in testing conditions with a creditable sixth overall. This position was enough to win the Wayfarer masters trophy.
I am also lucky enough to crew on a 10 metre keelboat which is raced in and around the Solent. This is a class I Australian boat and we have enjoyed considerable success in our racing.
Hopefully with lots of hard work and that little bit of luck the future
will prove to be as fruitful as the past particularly with the continued support of the sponsor.
